I mentioned to the Old Bat that I remembered walking down that very street back in 2004.
'Did it look like that then?' she asked.
I assured her that it did, although here were (and presumably still are) more attractive aspects to the city, like this:

I was just reading in today's news that there is some consideration to bulldoze blighted parts of Detroit and convert it to agricultural production.
The story was on the front page of the local, but they couldn't be bothered to put it up on their website. So I can't find a link.
