It seems to me that blogging is about as useful a way of passing the time as tossing pebbles into the sea, so for what it's worth - and that's not a lot - here are a few pebbles.

And while I'm ranting...
Why is it that when I try looking through a few other blogs by clicking the 'next blog' bit in the navigation bar, 90 per cent of the time I end up looking at blogs in Chinese, Spanish, Greek or Russian?
Gracie Fields sang about an aspastra if I remember correctly. Of course, I'm far to young to have actually heard her sing that song, but my grandmother told me about it.
